A tip for Small Business Owners: Map your customer's journey

By Reena Jana, Head of Product and Business Inclusion Strategy, Google | Business Inclusion

In honor of National Small Business Week 2019, we’re featuring a series of video tips for small business owners from Google’s Digital Coaches.

The Coaches host workshops on building an online business, based on their own experiences as small business owners in cities around the U.S. Many of the Coaches’ workshops are taught as part of the Grow with Google program, which offers free training and tools to help people grow their skills, career, or business.

In our third tip video, Roberto Martinez, Google’s Los Angeles Digital Coach, discusses why it’s important for start-up founders and small business owners to truly design a clear customer journey for their websites. Yes, it's great to build a beautiful, eye-catching site as a marketing and communications tool; but are you really considering what you want your customers to do online (that you can measure) once they've found your site?

Below, watch Roberto discuss his tip for entrepreneurs, drawn upon his experience as founder and CEO of Braven Agency, which creates digital marketing content and campaigns for major corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, Cisco, Hitachi, Hyatt and McDonald’s.
